Pinchbeck United were the only South Holland side to be in action during the first round of festive fixtures – and they were thrashed 5-0 at Skegness Town on Tuesday.
A hat-trick from former Spalding and Holbeach United striker Jonny Lockie did most of the damage in the Ulhsport UCL Premier Division North clash, while Adam Millson and Macauley Parker also netted.
It was Millson who opened the scoring at the Vertigo Stadium on six minutes, with Lockie netting on 40 and 44 minutes to make it 3-0 at the break.
The speedy striker completed his treble 15 minutes from time, before Parker rounded off the rout in added time.
Pinchbeck, who stay two points clear of the drop zone, kick-off 2022 with a home date against rock-bottom Holbeach on Monday (3pm).
The Tigers saw their home game with Deeping Rangers postponed on Tuesday due to a waterlogged pitch at Carter’s Park.
It was the same for Spalding United in the Pitching In NPL Midlands Division, with their home game against Carlton Town on Monday also rained off.
New boss Brett Whaley should take charge of his first game in the Tulips’ dugout on Saturday when they visit Histon on Saturday (3pm).
