‘Fantastic’ Tigers victors at Holland

Holbeach United put in an excellent performance to win 2-1 at Holland on Saturday.
They remain very much in the Thurlow Nunn Division One North Play-Off chase after the victory over fourth placed Holland courtesy of goals from John Yambasu and Harvey Thorne.
The former’s goal in the first half gave Holbeach the lead.
The home side hit back through Jack Marshall, but a brilliant strike from Thorne earned an impressive win.
Manager Danny Clifton said: “It was a fantastic performance from all 14 players.
“It was a hard game but every player delivered and it was all capped off with a ‘worldy’ winner from Harvey”.
It could be a big win ahead of an even more vital game this coming Saturday when Holbeach host Harwich and Parkeston at Carter’s Park in a 3pm kick off.
The Tigers are seventh in the table, one point behind Harwich, who also have two games in hand.
Defeat would leave them with a mountain to climb to get into the top five with six games remaining after, but a win could be a significant boost in the run in as a host of sides having played a different number of games look to make the post season shake up.
Tigers: Rigby, Greenacre, Cook, Ling, Oldham, Harris, Thorne, Barnes, Vieira, Frost, Yambasu. Subs: Nicholson, Compton, Hoyle.
Attendance: 115
