Fantastic foursome from Thetford win Sutton Bridge Golf Club ladies’ open day event

Sutton Bridge Golf Club’s ladies’ open day was won by a team from Thetford.

Dawn Dixon, Kath Malvern, Sharon Caws and Jane Herrington topped the standings with 75 points, edging the mixed team of Jan Somerville and Jan Trollope (Swaffham), Sue Ward (Ryston), Diana Gould (King’s Lynn) out by one point.

The Ramsey team of Dawn Robinson, Judy Freeman, Gina Cameron and Mary Mills also scored 74 points, but finished third on countback.

The nearest to the pin prize went Vanessa Morris (Nene Park), who was 39 inches away. Nearest to the line was Jan Trollope (Swaffham) at 5 inches away.

The 2’s competition was won by Jan Kirman (Thetford) and Roz Upton (Gedney Hill).

  • Terry Pease and John Kelledger topped the Division One standings at Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s Stableford Pairs competition.

The pair scored 43 points to top the standings by two points from two other pairs.

Results: Men’s Stableford Pairs: Division One – 1st Terry Pease & John Kelledger 43pts; 2nd Derek Beba & Derek Wroe 41pts; 3rd Keith Griffiths & Paul Burrell 41pts (ocb).
