Exhibition stuff from four-some Pinchbeck United as Dunn admits table is looking ‘very good’

PINCHBECK UTD 4
MELTON TOWN 0

Ian Dunn felt his Pinchbeck United side were always comfortable on Saturday as they moved ten points clear at the top of ChromaSport UCL Division One with a 4-0 win over Melton Town.

A first-half strike from Aaron Eyett after a super Josh Smith run gave the Knights a deserved half-time lead, before the same player doubled the lead with a sweet volley after the break.

Ollie Maltby then poked home his 29th of the season, before sub Liam Ogden lashed in the fourth at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.

Player/boss Dunn admitted it was exhibition stuff from his side after the break. He said: “They came here with only eight or nine first-teamers and they had a go at playing some football.

“But it was impossible on the pitch, especially at one end. We perhaps just about deserved our 1-0 lead at half-time.

“But once we got our second goal it was exhibition stuff really.

“Andrew Tidswell, Aaron Eyett and Tyler Wright, in particular, played some great stuff and it was great to see.

“Overall it was a very pleasing performance and another solid win – the results went our way too.

“The league table is looking very good for us and we’ve just got to keep on winning. As far as we’re concerned, we want to get the title wrapped up as soon as we possibly can.”

Pinchbeck: Swan, Murrell, Brooks, Bishop, Wright, Shipley, Tidswell, Eyett, Josh Smith, Sergeant, Maltby. Subs used: Easy, Gordon, Ogden. Not used: Dunn, Jack Smith.

Attendance: 87.
