March and April movie bookings at the South Holland Centre

The South Holland Centre has announced its March and April movie line-up which includes Oscars nominees, family fun and the finale to a steamy series.

From March 2, Journey’s End (12A) starring Sam Claflin and Paul Bettany plays in Spalding and tells the story of British soldiers in the trenches during the First World War.

Acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest comedy drama Phantom Thread (15) plays from Monday, March 12. The period film stars Daniel Day Lewis as a neurotic dressmaker in a role stated to be the method actor’s last. By all accounts it was a great way to bow out.

From March 13, Colin Firth hits the high seas in the true story of the first solo round-the-world yacht race in The Mercy (12A).

Disney Pixar’s Coco (PG) brings a Mexican flavour to family films from March 16.

Also playing from March 16 is Fifty Shades Freed (18), the final chapter in the racy Fifty Shades trilogy.

British comedy Finding Your Feet stars Imedla Staunton as a woman who moves to the country after she discovers her husband’s infidelity and finds a whole new world and a new lease of life.

Wallace and Gromit creators Ardman Animation return with their family comedy that takes their claymation models to the stone age in Early Man (PG) from March 31.

The master of fantasy and allegory Guillemero del Toro is back with the awards-laden The Shape of Water (15), about a woman who falls for a fish man from March 31.

Children’s favourite Peter Rabbit gets the big screen treatment from April 6.

Indie darling turned Hollywood heavyweight Greta Gerwig presents her directorial debut with Lady Bird (15), which runs from April 6. The coming of age film has been nominated across the board.

Margot Robbie returns to screens as disgraced figure-skating champion Tonya Harding in I, Tonya (15), a well recieved comedy drama.
Angelina Jolie step aside, Alicia Vikander is the new Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot, from April 13.

Finally, Jennifer Lawrence plays a ballerina and spy in Red Sparrow from April 17.
