Spalding Indoor Bowls Club started their under-25 double triples campaign with an emphatic victory over Stamford.
A competition which Spalding won back in 2004 and 2010, the matches are played in a format which is played on a one rink at home and one away basis.
Spalding were in control from the start and had opened up a 28-3 lead at only five ends.
This lead was extended to 44-7 at ten ends and 56-11 at 15 ends, before Stamford conceded at 16 ends, where the score finished 64-11.
Next up for Spalding are Melton on December 22.

- Spalding IBC’s men’s team hosted Stamford B in their second game of the season on Sunday.
In a game where Spalding were always in control, three rinks were won comfortably – which included Rhys Hill’s set collecting a full house of eight shots on the 11th end – while the other two rink wins were secured on the last end.
The final score was 18-0 to the home side and 108-73 on aggregate.
The top winning rink was skipped by Graham Wright, with Richard Evenden, Ab Belding and Mick Dolton.

- Spalding IBC’s friendly team picked up a fine win as they were hosted by Stamford on Saturday.
Spalding found the extra pace and green difficult to start with, but soon found line and length to win on four of the six rinks for a final score of 140-103 in their favour.
The top winning rink was skipped by Mick Jennings, with Brian Skelton, Edna Perkins and Sue Lovett, who won 29-13.
Captaining the team for the first time was Tony Westland, who was ably assisted by Ken Challans.
- Spalding’s over-60s women started their Mason campaign with a win against Peterborough on Friday.
In a competition which Spalding won back in 2013, one rink was played at home and the other away.
The home rink, skipped by Gloria Haney, with Irene Blackman, Sylvia Wade and Barbara Hurst, kept their cool to only lose on their rink 13-15.
The away rink, led by Julie Hicks, with Freda Lyon, Maisie Belding and Betty Deaton, managed to win 21-14 and secure an aggregate win of 34-29.
The next round will be played on December 7 against Stamford B.
- Spalding’s over-60s played their fourth game of the season was against old foes Horncastle on Thursday.
Spalding expected a tough game, as Horncastle were promoted (along with Spalding), after they won division two last season.
However, Horncastle struggled throughout the match and at the halfway stage, Spalding were winning on all five rinks, with an aggregate margin of 27 shots.
Horncastle fought back on two rinks in particular, but Spalding managed to hold on, winning those rinks by a single shot and securing comfortable wins on the other three. The final result was an 18-0 win for Spalding and 117-69 on aggregate.
Spalding’s captain, Graham Hicks, thanked reserve Gerald Horner and welcomed new players, Ian McCallum and Ian Stafford, together with the return of Eric Wakefield.
The top winning rink was skipped by Bob Ground, with Brian Skelton, David Head and Dave Amess.
