Emergency roadworks causing delays on A16 being cleared ‘as quickly as possible’

Emergency road works that’s caused long traffic delays on the A16 in the past two days are being ‘cleared as quickly as possible’, Lincolnshire County Council say.

Long queues have been reported around three way traffic lights installed near to Spalding Golf Club and just south of Surfleet.

It added to delays due to temporary traffic lights being undertaken at the next A16 junction south at Pinchbeck.

The Voice asked the county council what the reason for the work was yesterday (Monday) but has only just had a responce.

A spokesman for the authority said: “It’s for emergency works on some steel edging that has lifted. The crew are working on it now and will clear as quickly as possible.”
