Elsom Seeds’ site in Pinchbeck to host key wheat event

An Elsoms Seeds trial site in Pinchbeck has been chosen by The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board for its Winter Wheat Variety demonstration next week.

Adrian Hayler, agricultural division manager at Elsoms Seeds, said: “This is the first time this event has been held in South Lincs and Elsoms are delighted that their trial site has been chosen as the host site.
“We are very lucky that Dr Simon Oxley, of ADHB, will be attending and he will be demonstrating the trials – both fungicide treated and untreated plots of the Recommended and Candidate varieties.

“We’ve already had very high disease pressure this year and a weather pattern that would suggest continuing high disease pressure into early July so it is certain to be a very informative afternoon.”

Details of the free event at Flints Farm on Thursday, July 7 (1pm-3pm) at www.eventbrite.co.uk. Search “Lincolnshire Variety Open Day”.
