Spalding Water Polo cemented their place at the top of the Hertfordshire League Division One table with a thrilling 13-12 win at Northampton.
Goals from Ed Martin (6), Gareth Lord (5), Ben Marsters and Matt Papworth made it three wins from as many games for the Spalding lads.
It was a much closer clash than their fixture, which saw Hertford put to the sword 16-4.
The goals in that one came from Lord (3), Martin (3), Papworth (3), Nathan Henfrey (2), Phil James (2), Ben Marsters (2) and Tom Marsters.
Meanwhile, Spalding’s first victory of the campaign was an 11-8 triumph at home to Bedford in what was a stormy showdown.
In a match where tensions were high, with Bedford having three players permanently excluded in the last quarter, goals from Tom Norfolk (3), Lord (2), Martin (2), Ben Marsters, Tom Marsters, Papworth and Adam Sellars.
