Dutch ace Van Leuven set for home comforts with G&S Kawasaki at Assen

Wyberton-based G&S Racing Kawasaki team may not have a round of their Superstock 1000 championship at Assen this weekend – but the team will travel to Kevin Van Leuven’s local circuit to race in the Dutch championship at the Cathedral of Speed in order for his Dutch followers to see the team in action in their homeland.

The Superstock 1000 series had a round of their championship as a support class to the British round of the World Superbike championship at Donington Park earlier in the year – and, as the series is not on the race programme at Assen, the team would like to support Van Leuven on home tarmac and travel to Assen every year for him and

Tom Fisher to contest the Dutch race that is included in the British Superbike programme.

Qualifying takes place on Saturday at 12.35pm, with a final session on Sunday morning at 8.40am. The 14-lap race is scheduled to start at 1.10pm on Sunday.

  • Kirton’s Superstock 600 racer Aaron Clarke will also be at Assen – but only to accompany his Team draperRACING team-mate Tommy Philp, who is in the British Supersport Championship
