Duo set to jazz up the Market House

A jazz duo will mark the return of concerts put on in Long Sutton by a voluntary group.

Alan Barnes and Dave Newton will be heading to Long Sutton’s Market House on Saturday, May 14 at 7.30pm.

It’s being put on by Long Sutton Town Arts, a voluntary group.

After an enforced break they are once again bringing live performances to a local venue.

A spokesman for the Long Sutton Town Arts said: “The duo promise unfailingly swinging and inventive playing by this partnership of virtuoso saxophonist Barnes and superb pianist Newton.

“Swerving from blistering bepop to elegant melodies, covering a vast repertoire from Louis Armstrong to Chick Cores, flawlessly played and peppered with consummate deadpan wit and entertaining anecdotes.”

Tickets £12 on door or £10 in advance from Market House Long Sutton, call 01406 366767.
