A Long Sutton man was found in possession of cannabis, close to a children’s play area in Spalding where anti-social behaviour had been observed.
Cieren Peter Brownsword, 28, of Little London, Long Sutton admitted possessing 5.79 grams of cannabis, when he appeared before District Judge Peter Veits sitting at Boston Magistrates Court.
Prosecuting, Shelley Wilson said police were carrying out observations at the Spalding play park at 7pm on September 21, when they saw Brownsword sitting in his BMW car and approached him.
She said he handed over a small amount of cannabis which he said was for personal use and the officers searched the car but found nothing else.
Ms Wilson said he had a previous drugs possession conviction in 2017 for which he had received a conditional discharge.
Judge Veits told Brownsword he was risking brain injury from taking so much cannabis and he was fined
£500 and £135 in costs and charges.
He was also fined another £150 for breaching the conditional discharge and a further £100 for a separate charge of not wearing a seat belt on a different occasion in Spalding.
