Red-hot Holbeach United Sunday kicked off their Lincs Sunday Cup campaign with a thumping 20-0 victory over Fleet UC.
Jack Smith (5), Billy Smith (4) and Adam Jackson (3) all ran riot at University Academy Holbeach, as the Tigers put the rest of the competition on notice.
An own goal and Jackson’s first of the afternoon put the Tigers 2-0 up inside seven minutes.
Jackson then missed a penalty, but his blushes were spared by Jack Smith firing home the rebound.
A fine Luke Wilson finish made it 4-0, before Jack Smith rounded the keeper to notch his second of the morning.
That man Jack Smith completed his treble soon after, with veteran Steve Barnes then bagging the seventh with a great finish.
Wing wizard Billy Smith lashed home goal number eight following a fine run, before Jackson atoned for his penalty miss with a poked finish just before the break to make it 9-0.
A fine individual effort from Billy Smith and Jackson’s hat-trick strike took the score to 11-0, with Macualey Grimwood notching number 12 soon after.
Jonny Allen won and converted a penalty for the next goal, then Jack Smith bagged his fourth and Billy Smith’s free-kick completed his hat-trick.
The goals continued to flow with Allen, Billy and Jack Smith adding to their respective tallies, before Ricky Drury got in on the act and Marcus Gilbertson rounded off the rout.
- Punchbowl Tigers also ran riot in the Lincs Sunday Cup, thrashing fellow Spalding Sunday League side South Holland United Clarets 10-0.
Sam Munton notched four times for Punchbowl at Monkshouse Lane, with Tom Elderkin (2), Jake Cawthorne, Tom Panton, Ryan Wheeler and sub Jack Morton also bagging.
But three other Spalding sides failed to clear the first hurdle.
Jubilee were seen off 3-0 by hosts Waddington, while Mulberry were tonked 12-0 at home by Ivy Tavern and Spalding Wanderers went down 11-1 at home to FVA Jerusalem.
Sub Regan Green got the consolation goal at Cowbit Playing Field.
