A 12-year-old girl from Tydd St Mary is part of a “world class” street dance crew which wowed TV producer Simon Cowell on ITV show Britain’s Got Talent.
Entity Allstars got a “golden buzzer” from judge and Strictly Come Dancing winner Alesha Dixon on last Saturday’s show, sending the youngsters straight through to the live semi-finals beginning on Monday week.
Among the ranks of the 20-piece Essex crew is Dolcie Simmons, a Year 7 student at University Academy Holbeach.
Show judge David Walliams said the performance was “world class”, with Cowell telling the group: “And that’s why Great Britain is great. Seriously, unbelievable.”
Many dance crews have tried to emulate the feat of 2009 winners Diversity, and Amanda Holden reckons Entity Allstars – all aged between ten and 16 – are the real deal.
She told them: “So many dance crews come on here and say they’ve got something different and they’ve got nothing.”
Entity Allstars have won International Dance Organisation European and world titles.
Dolcie lives with parents Andrew and Cherie and younger sister Bonita – also an accomplished dancer – in Church Way.
The winning act in Britain’s Got Talent performs in front of The Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
Meanwhile, Holbeach street dance crew D-Feet have won the chance to be a warm-up act for Diversity.
They won an award for best choreography at the Grand Final of Dance Factor Lincolnshire on Sunday.
The group battled against 14 other dance crews, selected from regional finals across the county, to win the award at the final at Lincoln’s Engine Shed.
They will now support Diversity at a special Magna Carta event at Lincoln Castle on Saturday, June 13.
