Division One crown goes to Consti E, Services in second

Consti E have been crowned champions of Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League.

With just a week to go until the end of the season, Consti are on 87 points, with second-placed Services C equal but having played all their matches.
Consti beat Bourne SC A 4-2 on Thursday night to claim the title.
Sean Jeynes (o14), Simon Law (scr), Jack Chilvers (o21), James Kingston (o28) and Martin Ulyatt (o21) have only lost six matches all season.
Their winners against Bourne were Jeynes, Law and Chilvers, who got a 25 clearance.
Services C lost 4-2 away at Holbeach D, which gives them enough points to claim the runners-up spot.
Holbeach’s winners were Andy Spearman (scr), Don Monk (o21) and Ian Woodberry (scr), while Shane Cummins (o21) and Jordan Philpott (r7) got the points for Services.
Third place is a battle between Pyramid C and Donington C, with a single point separating them.
Both teams lost 4-2 on Thursday night, with Pyramid going down away to Consti H, and Donington losing to Pyramid D.
Consti’s winners were Seb Grimston (o28), Olly Turner (o7) and Jon Houldershaw (r14), while getting the points for Pyramid D were Josh Agger (o21), James Sharpe (o49) and Marcus Hamilton (o28). Agger got breaks of 31 and 25.
Down at the bottom of the table, relegated Pyramid A got the better of Services A 4-2.
Michael Twell (scr), Norman Vaughan (o21) and Dean Cole (o14) got the wins for Pyramid.
Holbeach B, who are also going down to Division Two, did not have a match.

Division Two champions Boundary A finished their season on a loss – just their fifth of the whole campaign.
They went down 4-2 to Holbeach A, thanks to wins from Wayne Dent (o56), who knocked in a 40 break, Steve Dent (scr) and Mat Smith (o28).
Gosberton A cemented their place as runners-up, thrashing Donington A 6-0, thanks to Geoff Wand (r14) (twice), Carl Wand (o7), Andy Adair (r14) and Alan Jackson (scr).
Services D will finish third, despite a 4-2 loss to Holbeach F.
Holbeach’s winners were David Lefley (r21), Dan Mayfield (o28) and James Quinton (o7). Stuart Sullivan (o28) lost on the black, despite a 40 break in his game against Joely Shears (r14).
The win might just keep Holbeach from being relegated.
Consti I, however, will be going down to Division Two. They were already propping up the table, and a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Pyramid E sealed their fate.
Consti B and Consti F are also fighting to remain in Division Two, with both teams losing 4-2 this week.
The B team lost to Services B, while the F team fell away to Whittlesey C.
There are just two points separating the top two teams in Division Three.
Pyramid B are leading the way with 94, but they missed the chance to widen the gap, losing 4-2 to Boundary B.
Whittlesey A, who didn’t have a match, are in second place with 92 points, so it will all come down to the final week of the season.
Third-placed Gosberton D lost ground, going down 5-1 away at Consti D.
Consti’s winners were Ray Digby (r28), Geoff Ellingworth (r14), Tom Digby (r7) and Martin Perkins (o21).
Keith Lungley (o28) got the solitary point for Gosberton, knocking in breaks of 47 and 24 along the way.
Lowly Gosberton C took on clubmates Gosberton D and walked away with their sixth win of the season.

Consti took the first three frames, courtesy of Chris Hull (r21), Nigel Steadman (scr) and Wayne Wilding (o7), before Donington hit back through Michella George (r28) and Pat Turner (r21) but it was too little, too late.
Consti C beat Donington B 4, with wins from John Walker (r28), Kevin Sweeney (r7) and Steve Crane (scr).
