On Saturday (May 6), King Charles III will be crowned.
And to celebrate the historic occasions, town and villages across South Holland are putting on events.
Here’s a sample of what’s on:
COWBIT
Adele, Oasis and Pink tribute acts will be singing on Sunday, May 7, from 1pm on Cowbit Playing Field.
There’s also a beer tent, refreshments, arena events, Vikings of Middle England, fairground rides, a car show and stalls.
DONINGTON
Donington Community Centre is putting on an indoor street party from 2pm on Saturday, May 6.
It will include a royal colouring, best dressed and crown competitions, music throughout the day.
Bring your own picnic.
FLEET
Fleet Community Responders have organised a Family Fun Day on the playing field in Old Main Street from 1pm to 4pm on Monday, May 8.
Games are set to include Partykartz, races, a basketball challenge and a penalty shoot out with Norwich City U14s goalkeeper George Bucknor.
There will also be food and refreshments and the raffling off of a Coronation cake.
GOSBERTON
There’s a party in the park for Gosberton on Saturday, May 6.
Live music will be on show from 4.30pm until around 9.30pm on the playing field.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own picnic and drinks but there’s also a hot roast and licensed bar.
HOLBEACH
A family fun day is being held centred on Carter’s Park from 12 noon till 4pm.
It will include a dog competition, cheesecake eating challenge, wheelbarrow race, Roger Tuby and Son Funfairs in town and Holbeach Town Band performing.
LONG SUTTON
Fun Dog Show In Winfrey Park, Bull Lane, Long Sutton, PE12 9HA Sunday, May 72023.
Everyone and all dogs are welcome to attend. Ring side parking will be available
Food, drink and toilets are available Regardless of the weather conditions on the day show will still go ahead as planned. Part of the King Charles III Coronation Celebrations Day.
MOULTON
A Lantern Parade will take place on Saturday, May 6.
Those taking part meet at Moulton Mill at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
The parade will go along High Street, Station Road, though Moons Green, turning right on to West Cobgate, left on to High Street along Bell Lane, down second entrance in to Reynolds Gardens in to All Saints’ Close, through the pathway to Shivean Gate onto Broad Lane where we stop off at the Community Centre for Hot Dogs, then leave at 8.45pm to head towards the Beacon to be lit at 9.15pm.
A Piper will be leading the parade. Please bring your own lanterns (no naked flames).
The following day, Sunday May 7, there’s a Coronation Picnic from 1pm at Moulton Harrox Playing Field.
Bring your own picnic and there will be a host of games and stalls plus coronation goodie bags for the children
SPALDING
There will be two days of celebrations in Spalding starting with the first at the town’s market from 9am to 3pm on Saturday, May 6.
A big TV will be screening the ceremony while there will be a host of Coronation themed stalls, entertainers and plenty for all the family.
The following day, Sunday, May 7, is a Coronation Picnic in Ayscoughfee Gardens.
You’re invited to bring your own picnic and enjoy the free activities including live entertainment , face painting, fancy dress competition and vintage rides.
SUTTON BRIDGE

SUTTON St EDMUND
Big Buffet Lunch on Sunday, May 7, bring a plate of savouries – drinks and cakes provided, 12-4pm at the village hall, Monday, May 8 is Big Help Out Day 07468 535347.
WHAPLODE DROVE
On Saturday, May 6, The Elizabethan Centre will be hosting a live screen from 10am then stalls, games, food and refreshments from 12 noon.
There will also be a Coronation British Bake Off. Bring your cakes by 2pm for judging from 5pm.
