Derby win sees Consti E take joint top position

It’s tight at the top of Division One in the Spalding and District Snooker League as a 5-1 win for Consti E moved them into joint first place.

They beat clubmates Consti H in the first game back after the Christmas break to put themselves joint top with Services C – both teams currently have 49 points.
Wins for George Neary-Phillips (O21), Jack Chilvers (O14), Sean Jeynes (O14) and James Kingston (O21) saw them to victory.
Adam Mayman (O21) took the final frame to give the H team a point.
Services C fell 5-1 to fourth-from-bottom Holbeach E.
Geoff Hemsil (R21) got Services off to a good start with a win over Chris Back (O63) before Holbeach hit back with victories from Stuart Sullivan (O35), Pete Ransome (O28), Ben Harding (O35) and Phil Coaten (O14).
A 5-1 win for Consti G moved them up into third place.
They beat lowly Boundary A, thanks to wins from Martin Deacon (O14), Darren Woodberry (O42), Ady Sibley (O35) and Mark Wilkinson (O14). Pete King (R7) got the point for Boundary.
Services A dropped a place to fourth after losing 4-2 to Holbeach D.
Andy Spearman (R7), Paul Daw (O28) and Jake Haslam (O21) got the wins for Holbeach.
Holbeach D now sit in fifth place.
A 5-1 loss for Holbeach C against Bourne SC A saw them drop to eighth.
Terry West (R7) was the only winner for Holbeach, while Carl Gibson (O28), Michael Byrne (R14), Oliver Player (O35) and Ian Gibson (scr) took the frames for Bourne.
Bottom placed Sutton Bridge lost 4-2 to Donington C.
Glenn Ryan (O28) won the first frame for Sutton, before Donington hit back thanks to Mat Turner (O14).
Mick Pearl (O21) took the third frame to put Donington ahead, before Thomas Horspool (O35) levelled it up.
The decider saw Neil Favell (O7) take on Wayne Howard (O14) with Favell winning 57-43.
Pyramid C won 4-2 away at Bourne SC B.
Victories from Pete Jackson (R14), Dave Pearson (O14) and Spencer Dawkins (O56) saw Pyramid to the win.
It’s as you were at the top of Division Two with Pyramid A are holding on to first place thanks to a 5-1 win over Donington B.
Gav Lewis (O7) got Donington off to a good start with a win over Victor Rouse (R7) but Pyramid hit back thanks to Michael Twell (R7), Matthew Chapman (O14), Norman Vaughan (O21) and John Twell (O7).
Holbeach A remain in second, with Pyramid D in third. They beat Donington A 4-2.
Wins from Josh Agger (O14), James Sharpe (O49) and Marcus Hamilton (O28) saw them to victory.
Sharpe (pictured) knocked in a superb 57 break during his win over Tony Scully (O42) – the highest break of the division so far.
Consti B hold on to fourth place with a win 4-2 over Services B.
John Christian (R7), Mick Johnson (O28) and John Keeton (O7) got the points for Consti.
A 5-1 win for Holbeach B over Gosberton A has moved them into fifth place.
Dave Willy (O7), Barry Haynes (07), Ian Woodberry (O7) and Neil Harvey (O14) were the winners for Holbeach, while Geoff Wand (R7) got the lone point for Gosberton.
In a mid-table clash Consti F emerged the 4-2 winners over Services D.
Services took the first two frames courtesy of Joel Shears (R7) and Paul Spicer (O14) before Consti answered back thanks to Martyn Stanley (R14), Warren Peel (scr) and Justyn Stanley (scr).
The top three remain the same in Division Three too.
Holbeach F are still in first place and chalked up a 5-1 victory over second-from-bottom Gosberton B.
Winners were David Lefley (R21), Susan Lefley (R21), James Quinton (O7) and Dan Mayfield (O28).
Second-placed Consti I didn’t have a game and are sitting 12 points behind Holbeach.
Consti A are still in third place after a 4-2 win over Donington D.
Donington started well with wins from Geoff Harris (R28) and Pat Taylor (R14) before the next three frames went Consti’s way thanks to Paul Kent (R21), Bill Prosser (O21) and Wayne Wilding (O14).
A 5-1 win for Consti J over Whittlesey B has pushed them up into fourth place.
Winners were Trev Braybrook (R14), Les Andrew (scr), Stewart Davies (O14) and Adam Braybrook (scr). Pawel Skutela (R7) got the solitary point for Whittlesey.
Pyramid E jumped four places from ninth to fifth, with a 6-0 win over Gosberton C.
Winners on the night were Stephen Thompson (R14), John Clapton (R7), Adrian Sharpe (O28), Jeremy Radford (R7) and Steve Doughty (R21).
