Davies foursome for brilliant Tigers

Callum Davies celebrated committing to Holbeach United by scoring four times in an impressive win on Saturday.
The Tigers bounced back from the 2-1 midweek defeat to second placed Downham Town to down fourth placed Harwich and Parkeston 4-2 on Saturday.
And all four goals were scored by Davies after the club announced he’d committed to staying with Holbeach after turning down offers from other clubs.
He had his hat-trick by half time as the Tigers took a 3-1 lead in at the break.
The Tigers lost Will Barnes to a second bookable offence ten minutes into the second half.
Harwich halved the deficit in the second half but another fine Davies finish sealed the win.
“It was a finishing masterclass,” said manager Danny Clifton. “I think he only had five chances in the game so we were laughing saying we were disappointed he didn’t get five.
“The whole team was absolutely superb and a lot of Callum’s chances came about because of the good work from George Frost.
“His terrific running tired out the Harwich defenders.
“He’s taking the load off Callum and allowing him to get in better positions.
“We were excellent all over the pitch and defended well too when down to ten men.”
Holbeach had looked set to be down to nine men when Harvey Robinson was shown a second yellow, but the red was not forthcoming.
The league have since told the club that was a refereeing mistake and he will be suspended too alongside Barnes.
“The referee was being assessed and was booking everyone.
“We’ve videoed the game and I don’t think there was a yellow card tackle in the entire game despite about 12 being handed out with both sides being frustrated by the referee.
“Will’s first yellow came in the second minute when he got to the ball first before the Harwich player.”
The seventh placed Tigers are five points outside the play-offs and face seventh placed Cornard United this weekend.
