This week saw the quarter final of Spalding Darts League’s divisional cups.
In Division 1, Consti A had a strong 8-1 victory over Lincoln A, but early in the night Lincoln missed doubles to make the match closer.
The sole winner for Lincoln was captain Luke Rhodes. Jack Chilvers, for Consti, had a 180 and an 18-dart leg in his victory.
In the semi final they’ll play Ye Olde Abbey who beat Consti E 7-2.
Abbey went 2-1 up in pairs and then won five of the six singles with Mark Dixon being the only winner for Consti.
The other semi final will be between Draymans A, who got a bye, and Tigers C, who beat Rose and Crown 5-4.
Going 2-1 up, Rose and Crown were in the driving seat. Dan Carnell beat Colin Hatter to make it 3-1 but then the fight back begun and four straight singles wins for Tigers won the match thanks to Mark Horspool, Simon Hill, Ant Richardson and Duncan Hunt. Richardson had a 180 and Horspool had a maximum and a 15-dart leg.
Other good legs on the night came from Carnell with an 18-dart leg, Tyger Atkin who had an 18-dart leg and Hill who had a 17-dart leg.
In Division Two, league leaders Pied Calf secured their place in the cup semi final with a 7-2 win over Punchbowl.
Pied went 2-1 up and then won five of the six singles games with the only loser being captain Josh Faulkner who lost 2-1 to Josh Burton but Faulkner had a consolation 180.
They will play Tigers B who beat Draymans B 5-4 in a tight encounter.
Draymans went 2-1 up and strengthen their lead with a win from Connor Hughes.
Young Leo Clarkson then won for Tigers to make the Draymans’ lead 3-2 but Chris Howling stretched the lead for the Draymans with a win over Ian McCreery.
Three wins in a row by Dave Henderson, Charlie Henderson and Pete Griggs sealed the victory.
The other semi final will consist of Holbeach Services, who got a bye, and Green Dragon, who beat Consti D 6-3.
Green Dragon couldn’t have started better, going 3-0 up in the pairs but Steve Emery got a point on board for Consti.
Wins for Callum Day and Shayne Hubbard sealed the win for the Dragon and Andy Porter extended the lead in his win over Nick Collins.
Hubbard was player of the night with two 180s and a 15 and 16-dart legs.
In Division 3, one semi final will be Ship Long Sutton against Riverside Hotel and the other is between Green Dragon B and Draymans C.
Green Dragon B beat Lincoln B 5-4. They started strong by going 2-1 up in the pairs and then two of the first three games were won by the Dragon thanks to Finn Mottram and Athena Overton.
Mick Holstead then sealed the win with a 2-0 win over John Charlton.
Draymans C won 6-3 against Moulton Harrox. They went 2-1 up and three singles wins early on helped them seal the victory thanks to Lee Purvis, Matt Peppercorn and Jack Morton.
