Crowson happy as Moulton Harrox ‘click’ and smash six to crush Ketton

Delighted assistant boss Paul Crowson felt that Moulton Harrox finally clicked in Saturday’s 6-0 demolition of previously unbeaten Ketton.

Moulton moved four points clear at the top of the table with their fifth win from six ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division games after the Broad Lane drubbing.

Jake Mason, deployed as a lone striker, shone with two of the goals while Marcu Parry (2), Louis Steadman and Joe Townsend also netted.

Midfield maestro Billy King also returned to the starting line-up on what was a top day for Harrox.

“For whatever reason, it just clicked,” said Crowson. “To be honest, Ketton got off lightly at 6-0.

“They are a very decent side. But, after five games of not really being all that convincing, we really were.

“We did all that without Phil Groves, too.

“Jake Mason was excellent as a lone striker and Billy (King) did very well on his return.

“He’s not been fit and we gave him minutes in the Reserves, but he’s back in the team and it’s his place to lose now as far as we’re concerned.

“It’s nice to be top of the league and we’ve now got a long period without a game. So we’ll put our feet up and see what happens at the weekend.”

Harrox, who are still unbeaten in the Premier Division, are back in action at home to Sawtry – who go into this weekend’s games in third place – on September 2 (2pm).
