Crowland Town’s hopes of staving off relegation from the ChromaSport Peterborough League Premier Division were boosted by a 1-1 derby draw at Pinchbeck United on Saturday.
Mindaugas Valys had put basement boys Crowland ahead at half time, only for Loz Lambley to hit back for Ian Dunn’s side at Knight Street.
The point sees Crowland jump off the bottom, while Pinchbeck remain eighth.
Also in the top flight, Moulton Harrox’s hopes of a top three finish were damaged by a 1-0 defeat at Peterborough Sports Reserves. Damien Ramm got the only goal.
Holbeach United Reserves remain deep in the relegation mire after a Craig Smith treble handed them a 3-0 defeat at Stilton United.
In Division One, goals from Jake Lally and Ben Partridge earned Sutton Bridge United a 2-0 win at Whittlesey Blue Star. They stay in seventh spot.
At the wrong end of the table, both Long Sutton Athletic and Moulton Harrox Reserves are embroiled in a relegation scrap.
Sutton went down 5-2 at AFC Stanground, despite goals from Matty Cawthorn and Tim Lowe. They are 14th, a point above the bottom two.
Harrox are a point above them in 13th after Macauley Grimwood’s double earned them a 3-3 home draw with Warboys Town.
Crowland Town Reserves are up into ninth place in Division Two after David Howe’s treble fired them to a 4-2 home win over Sawtry Reserves. Jamie Harker was also on-target at Snowden Field.
It wasn’t such a great day for Pinchbeck United Reserves, though, as they lost 6-2 at ICA Sports A.
Tyler Wright and Aaron Cooper bagged the goals.
In Division Three, Spalding Town remain in the title mix after a 2-0 home success over Baston Reserves. Ben Holland and Martin Sandall notched.
Tydd St Mary stay seventh after a 0-0 home draw with Coates B.
Meanwhile, it was a day to forget for our Division Four sides as Long Sutton Reserves lost 5-0 at home to Bretton North End and Holbeach Bank were seen off 4-0 by ICA Sports B.
Whaplode Drove’s title tilt in Division Five took a hit as they were beaten 3-0 by second-placed Stanground Reserves – who are now a point behind them with four games in hand.
Elsewhere, Tydd Reserves won 4-2 at Holbeach A. Kyle Davis (2), Tom Chenery and Jake Hinton-Penta scored for the Saints, with Robert Lewsley and Marcus Gilbertson on target for the Tigers.
