Crime month at Spalding Library

Spalding Library is set for a Month of Crime – and it’s to start with a bang thanks to a visit from a top author.

Christina James, author of the DI Yates series of books and who is originally from the town, will be giving a talk on crime fiction at the Victoria Street library from 2pm to 3.30pm on Thursday, November 4.

A spokesman said: “As autumn draws to a close and winter inveigles its way in, all crime fiction lovers will be anticipating the joy of curling up with a good book in a warm room, cup of tea (or something stronger) at hand.

“What makes us – fine, upstanding citizens who obey the law and show kindness and consideration to others – so fascinated by murder, skulduggery and death?

“To kick off Spalding Library’s November Month of Crime with a bang, Christina talks about the top crime writers whose work has engrossed, beguiled and inspired her and invites members of the audience to share their own list of favourites.

“Christina will then give short readings from De Vries, the latest novel in the DI Yates series and Sausage Hall, its predecessor.”

The event is free and refreshments will be provided.
