Spalding Town Cricket Club made a small slice of history during their first season in the Lincs ECB Premier League last year.

Town, who achieved their goal of staying in the county top flight last term, were the first-ever debutant team to pick up the league’s Fair Play Trophy.

Skipper Rob Ambrose received the trophy from guest speaker Graeme Fowler at the Premier League’s annual dinner and presentation evening.

The trophy is awarded on the basis of umpires’ marks for fair play and co-operation throughout the season.

Town get their second campaign in the county top flight under way with a home derby against Market Deeping on Saturday, April 19.
