Cowbit’s charity match raises awareness

A special football match was held to raise awareness of a national charity.

The match was organised between Cowbit Athletic and a ‘stars’ team drawn from a range of disciplines from acting to football.

The event was organised by Jamie Wadlow and he said that he was planning another with celebrities including football star Jamie Redknapp.

The game held earlier this month saw the Cowbit team dominate the scoreline with an 8-3 win.

The event raised awareness for Save the Children and the next match, which has yet to be announced, will also benefit the charity.

The stars team featured country music artist Saskia Vese, Team GB Paralympic footballers Jack Rutter and Matthew Crossen, BBC reporter Paddy Henderson, rapper Leo Golden Child, actor Jay Connor and celebrity physiotherapist Jimmy Connor.

“It was a great day although it only raised awareness,” said Jamie.
