Couple’s big adventure

A Spalding couple are escaping the winter and beyond as they head off for a 15-month trip.

Dave and Adele Endersbee have put their professional lives on hold to tour Europe in a motorhome.

An assistant headteacher at Spalding Grammar School, Dave (39), has been teaching PE there for 17 years.

Adele (40) is contracts and commissioning manager for Tanglewood Care Homes.

The couple met at the grammar school in 2008 when Adele took part in a netball match.

They married in 2013 and have an eight-year-old Labradoodle, Macy, who will join them on their travels.

“Some of the reason we’re sticking to Europe is so that Macy can come with us. Hot climates and flights would be too much for her,” said Dave.

They plan to share the driving along the way, starting in Scandinavia with the Norwegian fjords encircled on their map as an early stop.

Dave said their biggest concern is missing family and friends at home. They plan to settle elsewhere when they return in 2024.

“I’m sure we’ll have fleeting friendships with a few travellers but I’ll miss things like having a meal with friends and family,” he said.
