Lincolnshire County Council spent almost £100 on a Christmas card photoshoot, a Freedom of Information (FOI) request has revealed.
The council paid a photographer £99 to take pictures of leader Sean Matthews and chief executive Debbie Barnes at Doddington Hall, near Lincoln, writes Local Democracy Reporter Oliver Castle.
The Christmas photograph was sent electronically to people on the authority’s mailing list and was used in other publicity material.
The Christmas email message, sent out in December, also paid tribute to Ms Barnes, who is due to step down as chief executive of the county council in March.
A spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council said: “Please note this was not a photoshoot solely for the corporate Christmas card, and photographs have been used, and intend to be used, in other publications, online and in print.”
County council officials said they were not charged a booking fee to enter the venue.
