One of Lincolnshire County Council’s leading members has said she’ll visit Holbeach’s new museum if she can ‘find’ the town.
Coun Lindsey Cawrey, the council’s executive for cultural services, was asked to visit the new pop-up museum Memory Lane by Coun Tracey Carter during Tuesday’s meeting of the council.
The representative for Washingborough near Lincoln said she’d be ‘delighted’ but wasn’t totally sure where it was.
Coun Carter who has organised the setting up of the High Street museum for an initial six months, said to the meeting of the council: “A huge thank you to the cultural services team for their support in helping me put the pop-up historic centre Memory Lane up. The benefits for the town are already being felt immensely.
“I’d love to show you around, so Coun Cawrey, when are you free to come to Holbeach?”
Coun Cawrey responded: “I want to thank Coun Carter for all her hard work and enthusiasm.
“The pop-up museum is a testament to your hard work and your persistence and encouragement for funding for it.
“If I can find Holbeach, I’ll be delighted to come down and visit in the very near future.”
The remark was met with laughs before council chairman Coun Alison Auston said: “I think a lot of us know where Holbeach is.”
