Corcoran’s top catch

Fifteen hardy anglers braved the wind for the Spalding Fishing Club’s Christmas Match and second of their Winter Series.

With the previous heavy rain and excess water pushing through the Glen at speed, the wind, especially above Jubilee Bridge, made conditions far from ideal.
That said there were still fish to be caught and leading the field by some margin was Dave Corcoran with 8lbs 3oz.
His catch of mainly roach came from Peg 24 where he fished substantially lighter than most with 0.6gr rig.
Joint second with 5lbs 8oz was Steve Borrett from peg 26, where he fished pole feeder for some nice roach and Paul Dotchin who had an all bleak catch from peg 11.
Completing the frame was Mick Wright from peg 23 with 4lbs 6oz.
Next Match in the series is January 7 and all club members are welcome.
