Community development officer at South Holland District Council
We are currently working on an exciting new initiative aimed at turning impressive ideas into reality.
The district is the latest community to get involved in the Global Soup movement which organises live crowd funded events.
South Holland Soup will see people coming together to pitch ideas for improving their local community to a live audience who then vote for their favourite project.
The chosen idea is then awarded crowd funded cash to help turn it into a reality.
The first Soup night has been arranged for Tuesday, July 5 at Tonic Health at Broadgate House, Spalding, PE11 2AF. Soup nights are fun, sociable evenings which will bring the community of South Holland together.
Anybody can come along, enjoy a bowl of soup and drink, get together for a chat about the ideas, vote for their favourite and the idea with the most votes wins.
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. An entrance donation of £5 is requested. All donations will be given to the winner for them to turn their idea into reality.
So if you have an idea to improve community life that needs a little funding, South Holland Soup could help to make it happen.
We are looking to fund ideas that improve community, rural life, the environment, health and well-being, sport or to help someone set up an enterprise.
We can also fund an idea that helps an existing business, or launch a new product. It is not too late to submit your idea. There is no complicated application form, simply tell us from your heart what you want to do.
To submit your idea and for more information please visit https://southhollandsoup.wordpress.com/ or contact the council’s community development team at [email protected] or 01775 761161.
