Co-Op boost for food bank

Customers at a Spalding shop showed their generosity by helping stock a local food bank for the summer holidays.

The Wygate Park branch of Co-Op held a day of collections for the Agape Food Bank on Friday, July 12.
And they were inundated with incredible donations, 1,636 items given in total.
Pupils from both Wygate Park Academy and Monkshouse Primary School were among those who donated goods to be handed out.
Westphalia Foods also delivered a host of vital goods to be handed out.
As well as customers providing products, they also gave financial donations.
Rox Coot, the community coordinator for Co-Op in South Holland said: “It was amazing.
“It’s so important that the food banks have plenty of goods during the school holidays for those who would otherwise have been eligible for free school meals when they’re there.”
