South Holland thrower Claire Brookin is celebrating after winning her first-ever BDO ranked tournament.
Brookin, a regular performer on the South Holland darts scene, took top spot at the British Classic event at Bridlington on September 17.
The victory earned her £1,000 in prize money, but the prestige that comes with winning such an event was the top prize.
Brookin was up against ladies from all around the world as she stormed to a famous success.
She beat Casey Gallagher 4-2 in the quarter-finals, before seeing off 2015 champion Fallon Sherrock 4-1 in the last four.
That set up a final with Welsh ace Rhian Griffiths, who had defeated Russian star Anastasia Dobromyslova 4-1 in the other semi-final showdown.
Brookin was in flawless form and roared to a 5-2 victory to claim an eye-catching success.
The men’s British Classic was won by world number one Glen Durrant, who beat Mark McGeeney 6-3.
Martin “Wolfie” Adams lost 4-3 against Ian Jones in the last eight.
Spalding native Ian Tilley was also in attendance at the event, as he was officiating the live streaming of the event on stage at both the British Classic and British Open competitions over the weekend.
