Church’s fayre hailed a success

The annual Christmas Fayre at Spalding United Reformed Church has been hailed a success.

This year it tied in with the town’s Christmas celebrations recently, and members of church were heartened so many regulars and visitors came through the doors to grab a bargain or see the Christmas Trees.

During the event, the Marching Ambassadors took time out from their fundraising stall to play some Carols for the shoppers.

The church’s Julie Lunn said: “After a couple of years with very low attendance due to Covid, the church was pleased to welcome in so many people.

“It is the first year the church has been included in the town centre celebrations and I think this helped bring more people through the door.

‘We would love to welcome more people into our church. It’s very warm and welcoming.

“An ideal opportunity for those wanting to visit would be the upcoming traditional Carols and Lessons service on December 18 at 10.30am.

“We’re also open every Saturday Morning for Coffee and Chat from 10am to 11.30am.”
