Christmas event has ‘big heart’

Members of the Lithuanian Community celebrated Christmas recently with a host of activities.

Spalding’s St Norbert’s Church hosted the market and fair on Sunday, December 6 which included a visit from Santa, stalls, songs and food.

There were also wreath workshops for people to take part in as well as a service led by Fr Jim and Fr Petra Gucevicius.

Vaida-Janina Trabsaite the chair of the Spalding Lithuanian Community, said: “It was not just a market; it was a wonderful Christmas celebration in Spalding.

“We would like to personally thank everyone who contributed to this beautiful Sunday afternoon. We hope everyone enjoyed the celebration – both young and old.

“In life, it’s important to do what brings warmth and goodness, and even though we are a small community, we do it with a big heart.

“We wish you beautiful and peaceful upcoming holidays. “
