Children’s Centres around the county will be open between Christmas and the New Year to give families a warm space.
A total of 31 centres, including Spalding, Holbeach and Crowland, will open on December 28, 29 and 30, offering fun and festive activities.
All children’s centres are free to join, with each offering a variety of activities with free drop-in sessions and services.
Any adult caring for a child can access the centres, including grandparents, foster carers and childminders.
“We know that many families are struggling to keep their homes warm this winter because of high energy prices. So, the majority of our children’s centres will remain open over the Christmas period, offering families a warm welcome, a hot drink and lots of toys to play with,” said Coun Patricia Bradwell, executive member of Lincolnshire County Council for children’s services.
All the centres offer child and family health services, advice and information, childcare and early education.
There is also support for parents on a range of issues and training and employment advice.
An outreach service is also available.
Spalding centre is on Banks Avenue, PE11 2JG. Holbeach is in Boston Road South, PE12 7LR and Crowland is at Postland Road, PE6 0JA.
For details of all opening times, see the Lincolnshire County Council website.
There are also a number of warm spaces across South and East Lincolnshire.
“To support our residents we have worked with our partners to create a network of Warm Spaces, a group of spaces where local residents can come together to stay warm and perhaps enjoy a cup of tea and a biscuit.
“Food and drink is being provided at most spaces and people can take their own to any warm space.
“We know that this winter will be difficult for many with the cost of living increases and the rise in energy bills and some residents are being faced with tough financial decisions in their homes.
“The Warm Spaces are free for all to use as well as providing a welcoming warm place for people to visit.
“Over the winter period we hope to add more Warm Spaces as more venues become available so please keep checking our website to find spaces available,” said a joint statement.
