Celebrate lives at concert

A charity concert is being held to celebrate the lives of two Pinchbeck men.

Let’s Celebrate will be held at Pinchbeck St Mary’s Church on Thursday, April 28 as part of the village’s returning Flower Festival.

The concern is being held in memory of choir master John Bland and Rev Paul Hardingham.

The John Bland Memorial Choir is organising the event with the help of the Pinchbeck WI, Jeff Woods and Bomber County.

While admission to the event is free, attendees will be encouraged to make a donation to be split between Cancer Research UK and Prostate Cancer UK.

Brenda Ruysen, who is involved in organising the event, said: “It promises to be a fun, family affair with audience participation and sing along full of celebration.

“We hope to bring the roof down with all of the singing!”

The concert is being organised to coincide with the flower festival at the church. After several years without a flower festival, this year the church will be open for all to see the beautiful floral arrangements and share in a cuppa and cake. The theme of the festival is “Oh What a Wonderful World” and everyone is welcome.

The church will be open for the Flower Festival from Thursday, April 28 to Monday, May 2.
