Caravan site gets year round permission

A holiday caravan site is to be allowed to open all year round, despite opposition from Long Sutton Parish Council.

Permission for Foreman’s Bridge Caravan Park on the A17 west of McDonald’s was given in 2008 on the proviso static caravans were not allowed on the site from November until March.

However South Holland District Council’s development manager this week granted permission for a condition amendment to allow a 12-month holiday season.

Long Sutton Parish Council objected to the proposal.

“It is perceived by the parish council that it is an avenue to turn the site into a residential site and not a holiday complex,” the officer report states.

It concludes by saying: “There is not sufficient reason to resist this application on policy grounds.”
