Captain Baker’s half-dozen

Captain Josh Baker led by example in an incredible East Men’s League Division One North match, which saw Long Sutton’s men’s first team draw 6-6 at City of Peterborough Seconds.

After earning his team a second-minute lead, Baker went on to score another five times as the visitors hit back from 6-3 down to grab a share of the points.

Sutton Seconds looked to be on their way to victory in their Division Three North West match at St Ives Seconds when James Harrison scored twice in the first eight minutes.

The hosts hit back to make it 2-2 but William White restored the Sutton advantage, only for them to concede twice more to lose 4-3.

The third team went down 4-1 at Wisbech Town Fourths in Division Five North West.

Hannah Baker 2, Annabelle Giles, Kate Tilbrook and Florence Perowne were on target to secure a 5-2 win for Long Sutton Ladies first-team in East Women’s League Division Three North West against Kettering Seconds.

Jasmin Gaborit-Carter scored a late consolation for the second team in their 5-1 defeat at home to Haverhill in Division Five North West.
