Jason Bates lit up Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League on Thursday night with a fantastic 83 break.
Bates (o77) was part of the Consti E team which beat Services C 5-1. He took the first frame, getting the better of Geoff Hemsil (r21).
Although his break is the highest of the season so far, it doesn’t qualify for the trophy as he hasn’t played enough games.
His win was followed with victories from James Kingston (o35), Sean Jeynes (o14) and Martin Ulyatt (o14).
Consti lost 5-1 to second-placed Pyramid C in a rearranged game last week.
Pyramid’s winners were George Neary-Phillips (o21), Dave Pearson (o21), Spencer Dawkins (o63) and Richard Skellett (o28).
Pyramid C lost their match on Thursday night 4-2 to Holbeach D.
They started well, taking the first two frames courtesy of Skellett and Neary-Phillips, but Holbeach hit back with Andy Spearman (o7), Denis Hix (r7) and Paul Daw (o28) getting the wins.
Pyramid F are still top of the table, three points ahead of their C team. They had a convincing 5-1 win over clubmates Pyramid D.
Pete Hodgson-Kerry (o21), Ian Gibson (r7), Ian Clare (scr) and Carl Gibson (o28) were winners for the F team, while James Sharpe (o49).
Boundary A beat Gosberton A 5-1 to remain in third.
Pete King (scr) and Tim Burrows (o7) won the first two frames for Boundary before Gosberton got one back courtesy of Carl Wand (o7).
Daniel Smith (o35) and Steve Smith (r21) rounded off the win for Boundary.
Holbeach C will almost certainly be going down a division, having only won four games all season.
They lost 4-2 to Services A thanks to wins from Vince Fitter (o42), Jake Haslam (o14) and Chris Dunmore (o42).
Consti H got a 4-2 win over Services D.
Adam Mayman (o28) won for Consti, before Services’ Paul Spicer (o21) hit back.
Mark German (o28) gave Consti the lead again, before Jon Houldershaw (R14) took the fourth frame and the win.
Consti G beat Donington C 4-2.
Darren Woodberry (o42), Neil Grant (r7) and Ady Sibley (o35) won for Consti, while Shaun Pickering (r7) and Neil Favell (o21) got the points for Donington.
A 5-1 win for Holbeach B has put them firmly in the driving seat in Division Two.
They beat Holbeach A to go seven points clear.
Second placed Pyramid A lost ground going down 4-2 to Gosberton D.
James Parrott (scr), Neil Simmons (o21) and Paulo Gensiorskyj (scr) were victorious for Gosberton.
Consti F remain in fourth after beating Services B 4-2.
It was a close match with the first two frames going to the black ball.
Donington A are still at the bottom of the table following a 4-2 home loss to Pyramid E.
Steve Thompson (r14) and John Clapton (r14) got Pyramid off to a good start, then Jeremy Radford (scr) took the fourth frame to seal the win.
Pyramid B went down 4-2 at home to Whittlesey C.
Whittlesey’s winners were Neil Burton (scr), Gary Thewliss (r7) and Simon Parker (o7).
There’s no change at the top of Division Three as the top two teams both won 4-2.
Holbeach G beat Consti B, while Boundary B got the better of Consti J.
Ben Harding (o42) got Holbeach off on the right foot, before John Christian (r7) levelled the score for Consti.
John Dawson (o21) and Stu Sullivan (o28) were Holbeach’s other winners.
Consti A got a 5-1 win over Gosberton C.
Consti’s winners were Louis Steadman (r14) twice, Wayne Wilding (014) and Bill Prosser (o14).
An all-Consti clash went the way of the C team, who got the better of the D team.
John Walker (r28), Terry George (r14) and Steve Crane (r7) got the wins for the C team, while Martin Deacon (o14) and Tom Digby (r7) secured two points for Consti D.
Donington B moved up to fifth after beating Consti I 4-2.
Whittlesey B moved up a place to seventh. They beat Donington D 4-2 at home.
