Boundary come out on top in Division Two leaders clash

It was all to play for in Division Two of the Spalding and District Snooker League on Thursday night as the top two teams went head to head.

It was Boundary A who came out on top and are now leading the way with 83 points.
They beat second-placed Gosberton A 4-2 to widen the gap between them to eight points.
Carl Wand (o7) started the scoring for Gosberton, taking the first frame, but Elliott Cox (r7) hit back, levelling the scoreline.
Andy Mowforth (scr) put Boundary 2-1 up, before Gosberton equalled again thanks to Geoff Wand (r14).
It was down to Alan Jackson (scr) and John Tidswell (o21) to battle it out it the final frame, with Tidswell coming out the victor 69-33.
Holbeach E missed out on the chance to jump above third-placed Services D, losing to them 4-2.
Joely Shears (r14), Ian Smith (scr) and Russ Morse (o7) got the points for Services, while Robert Coaten (r14) and Ethan Lawrence (r14) were Holbeach’s winners.
Services B remain in fifth, having beaten Consti F 4-2.
Winners were Andy Neal (r7), Alan Hansard (scr) and Jeff Collins (r7).
Down at the bottom of the table Consti I look destined for relegation with just 39 points. They didn’t have a match this week.
Sitting one place above them are Holbeach F, with 50 points. They went down 4-2 to Whittlesey C, whose winners were Paul Cook (o21), Gary Thewliss (scr) and Simon Parker (o7).
Dan Mayfield (o28) and Alex Bourne (o21) got the points for Holbeach.
Holbeach A beat Pyramid E 4-2 thanks to wins from Pete Ransome (o35), Steve Dent (scr) and Stuart Atkin (o42), who knocked in a 45 break.
Consti B, who are third from bottom, got a 4-2 win over mid-table Donington A.
Winners were Martin Fear (o7), John Pike (r14) and John Keeton (o7).
Pyramid B have opened the gap at the top of Division Three to three points, thanks to a 4-2 win over Donington D.
Winners were Darren Hibbins (o7), Carl Kelham (r7) and Richard Clark (o7).
Chasing them are Whittlesey A, who missed a trick, losing 4-2 at home to Boundary B.
Boundary’s wins came from Rich Wilson (o7) (twice) and Adam Crowe (r21) who beat Steve Jennings (o35) 80-13.
Gosberton D propelled themselves up the table and into third place with a 6-0 whitewash of Donington B, who fall to fifth.
Daniel Hanger (scr), Neil Simmons (o14), Keith Lungley (o28), James Parrott (r7) and Paulo Gensiorskyj (o7) made up the winning team.
The match could have gone the other way though, with three of the frames going down to the black.
Clubmates Consti C took on Consti A, with the C team coming out on top 4-2.
John Walker (r28) got the C team off to a good start, beating Martyn Johnson (r21), before Paul Kent (r7) hit back for the A team.
Mark Craig (r14) got the better of Wayne Wilding (o7) to put the C team ahead again, before the scoreline was levelled once more, thanks to Bill Prosser (o7).
The final frame saw Steve Crane (scr) face off against Nigel Steadman (scr), with Crane winning by a single point 45-44.
Gosberton C shifted themselves off the bottom of the table with a 4-2 win over Whittlesey B.
Whittlesey took the first two frames courtesy of Pawel (r7) and Andy Skutela (r14), but Gosberton hit back thanks to Stuart Henderson (o7), Mark Payne (o14) and Stuart Tamplin (r7).
Friendly foe Consti D and Consti J went head-to-head, with the D team taking the spoils, thanks to Martin Perkins (o21), Ray Digby (r28) and Steve Moore (r21).
In Division One, Services C are now three points clear at the top, after a 5-1 at home to Pyramid D.
Geoff Hemsil (r14), Jordan Philpott (r7), Mark Spiller (o7) and Nigel Cherry (scr) got the wins for Services, with Josh Agger (o21) claiming the lone point for Pyramid.
Consti E are still in second place, having beaten Services A 4-2.
Sean Jeynes (o14), James Kingston (o28) and Jack Chilvers (o21) were Consti’s winners.
Pyramid C closed the gap between second and third to three points with a 5-1 win over Holbeach C.
Richard Skellett (o14), George Neary-Phillips (o21), Jason Green (o56) and Dave Pearson (o14) were the winners.
Alfonso Palumbo (o49) was Pyramid’s only loser. Despite knocking in breaks of 40 and 30, he lost on the black to Paul Ashton (r14).
Fourth-placed Donington C lost 4-2 to Holbeach B in a match that saw four black ball games.
Winners for Holbeach were Ady Liquorish (r7), Charlie Mullane (r28) and Neil Harvey (o21).
Down at the bottom of the table, Pyramid A beat Consti G 5-1.
Holbeach D got the better of Bourne SC, winning 5-1, with Andy Spearman (scr) chalking up a great win over Mark Gray (o98) 120-27.
