Boston beaten in Leggot Cup success for Spalding Tennis Club

Spalding Tennis Club enjoyed a 5-4 victory over Boston in the Leggot Cup last week.

The competition is played by members of the Boston Mixed League, with Spalding represented by Martin and Glenn Perkins, Lucinda Layton Hannam, Mary Clay, Natasha Tooley and Stuart Nicholson.

In the Peterborough League, Spalding B lost 5-4 to Castor A in Division Two. Carl Newell, Mike Stich, Dave Baldwin, Jack Howard and Marius Skrebe were on duty for the B side.

There was better news for the Spalding C team of Michael and Mathew Pearl, Andy Rix, Ian Argent, Steve Knight and John Constable. They beat Kings Cliffe 9-0 in Division Three.

Completing the week’s action were Spalding D, who went down 6-3 against Deeping C in Division Three. Martin and Millie Brittain, Noah Freeman, John Lees, George Taylor and Gavin Staite represented them.
