Spalding Library is holding a week of special events from October 3 to 9 to celebrate National Libraries Week.
It is a week-long celebration of all that libraries have to offer their local communities.
This year the focus of the week is the significant role that libraries play in inspiring learning for all, and helping individuals to unlock and fulfil their potential at every stage in life.
The team at Spalding Library will be offering a variety of events and activities throughout the week to encourage everyone to never stop learning.
- Monday, October 3 – Discover the courses that Boston College can offer you
- Tuesday, October 4 – Find out about more about the U3A and how you can join them
- Wednesday, October 5 – Maggie Goodsell from Spalding Arts and Crafts Society will be holding a beginner’s painting with acrylics session.
- Thursday, October 6 – Learn basic yoga with Viv Scupham
- Friday, October 7 – Learn to knit/crochet a flower for the Spalding Flower Parade.lSaturday, October 8 – Pumpkin crafts for children.
Amanda Reynolds, library manager at Spalding Library for GLL said: “You will nurture a love of learning with the brilliant programme of activities at Spalding Library during Libraries Week.
“We hope our activities will bring the community together to find out more about all the ways the library empowers you to pursue life-long learning.
“Everyone is welcome and the library is free to join.”

- It’s not part of the Libraries Week, but Spalding Library is also holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday, September 30.
It takes place from 10am to 11.30am and all are welcome to drop in and help raise money for charity.
