Book into Spalding Library for half term or a costume change

Spalding Library has unveiled its calendar of events for half term next week and what could be a helping hand ahead of World Book Day.

Once again its hosting a ‘Costume Swap’ for the day which encourages youngsters to dress up as characters from their favourite books which this year is on March 5.

You can bring in past costumes to swap for a different one for your child to use this year, totally free.

There’s also an ‘Emergency Pack’ for those ‘up against it as the big day approaches’.

A spokesman said: “The packs includes simple and quick last-minute costume ideas that will transform your child’s everyday clothes into a character from a book.

“The Emergency Pack also includes recommended reads, chosen especially by library staff, to help you and your child find stories that truly capture their imagination and grow their love of reading.”

Meanwhile the February half time activities at Spaldling Library start this Saturday (February 14) with a Valentine’s Day craft and activity session from 10am to 12pm.

A special Pancake Day Story Time is taking place on Tuesday, February 17 which promises stories and crafts to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
