Bomb disposal squad called in and man arrested after ‘weapons’ found in village home

The Army’s bomb disposal unit are at a property in Holbeach St Marks this morning (Thursday) after ‘a number of weapons’ were found.

South Holland Police say a 42-year-old man has been arrested for firearms offences.

A spokesman for the police said: “The EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) are helping our officers at an address in Holbeach St Marks.

“We were called to the property last night in response to a number of weapons being found.

“We need to make these safe and continue our inquiries. One man, aged 42, from the local area has been arrested for firearms offences.

“There isn’t any risk to anyone and no-one has been injured.”
