Blooming fantastic effort by volunteers to help town blossom

Holbeach will be in the spotlight today (Thursday) when judges from East Midlands In Bloom will be heading to the town.

Town traders have boosted chances this year with a special effort to brighten-up windows and displays.

The newly-formed Action Team has been working with businesses to encourage participation and member Tracey Carter said they were delighted with the response.

“There are some fabulous displays in so many shops,” she said.

And the effort seems to be paying-off with a letter sent to the team and Holbeach in Bloom commending the efforts of all involved and remarking on how good the town looks.

The hand-written note was given to a member of the team and thanked everyone for their hard work.

“Hoping you keep up this display for many years to come,” said June and Colin Taylor.

Judges and visitors will also be serenaded by local singer Jeff Woods, otherwise known as Pavanotti, who will be performing at Caffe Aurora late morning.

Further details can be found on the Facebook pages for Holbeach in Bloom and The Holbeach Local.
