Benton takes the top spot

The river looked perfect colour and flow for Spalding Fishing Club’s annual Christmas match however the moody Glen is not always predictable.

Sixteen anglers took part and leading the way was Ian Benton who included a lovely 2lb plus perch among his roach in 8lb 15oz winning catch from peg 14.
On peg 13 Rob Ferraro put together 7lb 10oz of roach for runners up spot.
The ever consistent Paul Dotchin was third from peg 19 followed by Gary Boxall off peg 15 with 6lb 4oz.
Winners were: Section 1 – Andy Wilson 4lb off peg 9, Section 2 – Gary Boxall, Section 3 – Mick Wright off peg 20 with 5lb 1oz.
