Jack Barnett made a sensational 143 not out to steer Moulton Harrox to maximum points against Timberlands on Saturday.
Harrox were put into bat by their hosts in the South Lincs and Border League Division One clash at Martin Road – and they made hay.
Opener Barnett carried his bat all the way through the innings, finishing seven shy of 150 in a team tally of 225-9.
Extras (21) was actually Moulton’s second top scorer, with only skipper Martin Chapman (16) and wicket-keeper Jake Morton (15) making double figures.
Timberlands batted valiantly in reply as they made 195 before being bowled out some 30 runs shy in the 45th over, Sam Freeman (31) top scoring.
Debutant Alex Baker (4-36) caught the eye for Moulton with Chris Page (2-50) and Barnett (2-10) also getting amongst the wickets.
- Joe Broomfield also blasted a century on Sunday as Moulton Harrox 2nd cruised to a 158-run success over Orton Park 2nd in Rutland League Division Six.
Broomfield hit 17 fours and a six en-route to 128, with that man Jack Barnett adding 67 in Moulton’s 242-6 at Harrox Field.
Orton were all out for 84 in reply as Ram Khunti (4-29), Darren Hibbert (3-21) and Steve French (2-11) doing the damage and keeping Harrox third.
