A banned driver who was caught behind the wheel in Spalding twice within a month has been fined £1,000.
The offences occurred almost two years ago but justice caught up with Mantas Rasytinis (22) on Monday when he appeared before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court.
Rasytinis, of Crocus Walk, Spalding, was driving an Audi in Broad Street when police stopped him on August 6, 2018. Checks confirmed he was a disqualified driver and also had no insurance for the vehicle.
He was stopped again on September 9, 2018 – this time driving a Volkswagen in The Vista.
On Monday he pleaded guilty to two counts of driving while disqualified and two counts of having no insurance.
For the first driving while disqualified offence, Rasytinis was fined £500 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £50 victim surcharge. For the second, he was fined £500, given six penalty points on his licence and told to pay £85 costs.
There were no separate penalties for the two insurance offences.
