Bank’s festive present to town

The Spalding branch of Nationwide has provided its own present to the town – a new defibrillator.

Staff at the Market Place branch have raised the money for the equipment themselves.

And they’ve also been trained up on how to use it thanks to Lincolnshire’s first responder charity LIVES.

It was funding thanks to generous customers alongside raffles and fundraising activities.

South Holland District Council was also able to provide money towards the installation which was arranged through Jan Whitbourn.

Branch manager Steve Sharp, said: “We wanted to do this for the town. What’s really good is that this is available 24/7 for the community.

“It’s our Christmas present to the town,” added the branch’s Karen French.

LIVES head of sales Kirsty Ragwood said: “It’s good to work alongside Nationwide and it’s in a great place in the centre of town.”
