Pinchbeck United’s upturn in form continued on Saturday with a 3-2 friendly victory over an under-21 side from Rushden and Diamonds.
Hot on the heels of the 4-2 friendly win over March Town the previous week, goals from Peterborough United scholar Joey Buckingham (2) and Finlay Armond helped Lewis Thorogood’s Knights come from behind to secure a win at Knight Street.
It was Diamonds who went ahead early on when Pinchbeck were unable to clear a ball into their box.
They held that lead until the second half, when a Joe Melson inspired Pinchbeck seized the initiative.
They moved 2-1 ahead with triallist Buckingham on the mark, but were pegged back to 2-2 with 15 minutes to play.
However, the UCL Premier Division North side grabbed another goal to make it back-to-back friendly wins.
It’s a timely boost for a side that lost all of their games in the Kingfisher Lighting Cup.
