Aye aye-Pad! Shipmate Geoff (85) gets online with Apple tablet thanks to Project Semaphore

Spalding Royal Naval Association shipmate and branch treasurer Geoff Buck (85) is pictured with his new Apple iPad receiving training from and branch secretary Terry Day.

The RNA got funding from the Aged Veterans’ Fund for Project Semaphore, which helps to get veterans aged 65 or over online with the supply of IT.
Geoff applied and was selected to receive an iPad, training and support.

The aim of the project is to reach out to Royal Naval Association Veterans, who are computer isolated and are over the age of 65 years old.

Benefits to the veterans include access to social media, contact with family or friends, shopping online and access veterans’ information.

Geoff applied to be a candidate and was selected to receive an iPad, training and support.
